Sillimanite is a natural high-grade refractory mineral with the characteristics of low thermal expansion, resistance to corrosion by metallurgical slag and various glass liquids, and good high-temperature wear resistance. Its physical and chemical properties are better than those of high-alumina bricks, with a refractoriness of 1770-1830℃ and a load softening starting point of 1500-1650℃. It is mainly used for the forming of flow holes in glass tank kilns, blast furnace linings, furnace throats, and ceramic industrial kiln furniture. Refractory materials based on natural sillimanite also have these advantages. Sillimanite Brick Application
1. Application In Non-Ferrous Metal Metallurgy Industry
Use Sillimanite Brick as the high-temperature indirect heating material with its features of high-temperature resistance, high strength, good thermal conductivity and shock resistance, such as vertical retort furnace, tray of rectifying furnace, aluminum cell, lining of copper melting furnace, arc type board of zinc powder furnace, protecting tube and etc.
Compared with clay bricks, sillimanite bricks and mullite bricks have higher high-temperature load softening points, dense fine-grained structures, and are not easy to cause bubbles in glass liquid, which are very suitable for the discharge port structure.
