Mullite bricks refer to high-alumina refractory materials with mullite as the main crystal phase. Generally, the alumina content is between 65% and 75%. In addition to mullite, the mineral composition contains a small amount of glass phase and cristobalite in those with lower alumina content; a small amount of corundum in those with higher alumina content. Mainly used in hot blast furnace tops, blast furnace shafts and bottoms, glass melting furnace regenerators, ceramic sintering kilns, dead-end furnace linings in petroleum cracking systems, etc.

Product feature:
1. Low thermal conductivity and good thermal insulation effect.
2. Mullite insulation bricks are low-heat melt. Due to the low thermal conductivity, the mullite series lightweight insulation bricks accumulate less heat energy and have obvious energy-saving effects during intermittent operation.
3. Low impurity content, with extremely low content of oxides such as iron and alkali metals; therefore, high refractoriness; high aluminum content allows it to maintain good performance in reducing atmospheres.
4. Mullite insulation bricks have high thermal compressive strength.
Applications of mullite bricks:
1. Ironmaking industry
Mullite bricks are used in the overhangs and orifices of the hot air ducts of hot blast stoves, pipe vertical pipes and straight pipes with higher temperatures, surrounding areas and temperature stable parts. The grades of mullite bricks used in different areas are different; the parts of torpedo tank cars that are impacted by molten iron , slag line area.
Mullite bricks are used in the main forehearth, regenerator and clarifier walls of glass kilns; mullite bricks are used in ceramic industrial kilns to make saggers and kiln furniture.
3. Building materials industry
Mullite bricks can be used in cement and lime rotary kiln linings.
Mullite bricks are divided into lightweight mullite bricks and heavy mullite bricks according to different volume densities. The main applications of lightweight mullite bricks are: partitions of industrial kilns in metallurgy, petrochemicals, building materials, ceramics and other industries. Thermal layer, such as heating furnace, soaking furnace, heat treatment furnace, tunnel kiln, roller kiln, shuttle kiln, etc.
